Welcome to Germany's presentation at this year's Singapore Airshow. Meanwhile, this important aerospace trade show is taking place for the 3rd time.
German Aerospace industry has been taking part in this exhibition and in its predecessor show for many years now. Our motivation lies at hand:
Within few years, Singapore Airshow has become Asia's largest and one of the world's top three aerospace and defence events. It brings together heads of the international aviation and industry community, including key political and military leaders. In 2010, deals and announcements worth about US$10 billion were closed, in spite of a recovering economy.
With 62 out of the globe's Top 100 aerospace companies represented at the impressive, highly-modern Changi Exhibition Centre, with a total of 259 civil and military delegations from 80 countries and with 27 Airline CEOs visiting the last show in 2010, Singapore Airshow proves to be one of the world's indispensable exchange platforms for internationals OEMs, suppliers, operators and political decision-makers. All these assets make Singapore Airshow a central business hot spot for South-East Asia and Asia-Pacific and a key platform for German and European aerospace companies outside their home markets.
This year, a total of 25 companies are participating on the German booth. Our exhibitors - among those a lot of mid-sized companies and supplier brands - are covering an extensive range of skills, products and services, which contributed to our national aerospace industry's reputation as a technology-driver and branch of excellence in engineering and manufacturing.
All exhibiting German aerospace companies are rising to the challenges of changing international market environments through excellent performance and high competitiveness, coupled with a background of international industrial cooperation since many years.
Businesswise, I expect this show to be a decisive impulse for the sales of new aircraft and helicopter systems as well as related services - commercial and defence-related - after a period of reluctance on the global market, as this show is covering all segments in which our national aeronautic industry is pushing the limits in global competition.
Come and visit us on the German stand, booth number K93 and get a picture of our scope of competences. We are looking forward to seeing you
